Do you ever care of what temperatures your CPU / Processor attains when operating. It always makes sense to keep it cool so that life of the components are extended and can also correct system crashes which occur due to high temperatures.
First and the most important thing to do is to open up the cabinet where your CPU lives and clen all the dust and you will notice a lot of dirt. Clean your cabinet and all the components with a blower atleast once a year. You can open the cabinet by removing the screws behind the cabinet and use a blower….
For the experienced ones, you can remove the heatsing from the cpu and clean it, as it accumulates more dust than anything else. You can also apply a thermal paste (Brands like Cooler Master, Arctic Silver and Arctic Cooling are preferred), which can greatly reduce the operating temperatures.
Stay happy and keep it cool…… See you in the next article….. Bye Till Then…

Do you know that besides the RAM that is installed in the system, sometimes more memory is required for running some applications or in certain situations.
A file created as memory, on the Hard disk is known as Paging File.
When windows is installed on a system, Paging File is managed by default. i.e. Windows automatically determines what amount of Paging File is required for the system and if more is needed then the Paging File is increased.
Though it is recommended to keep the Paging File settings to default, you can change the settings depending on the configuration of your system.
Suppose if your system has more than 3 GB of RAM, then the paging file is used less and hence the performance of your system becomes better as the hard disk is always slower than the RAM.
You can find these settings by right clicking on My Computer — Properties — Advanced — Performance — Advanced — Change.
Here you can disable or change the size of the Paging File.

You might have noticed that over a due course of time, the speed at which the PC runs gets slower and slower.
This happens because system makes some temporary files and deleting them improves performance.
This program is freeware and removes any temporary files which are not useful and can be safely deleted. It does not delete any personal data and information.

Here’s how you can improve the file-system on your computer so that your computer runs faster and speeds up the loading of all the applications.
You may know that when you buy a new PC…..The speed at which it runs is ‘lost’ after some days and your computer becomes slower than before…..
It is all because many files on your Hard Disk Drive get “Fragmented” i.e. A file is stored by the OS (Operating System) in many small parts and hence the time taken to access the file increases and hence the processor has to wait for a long time until the file has been completely accessed….
There are many tools available on the Internet to ‘defragment’ the files on your PC, which ultimately results in better performance……
Download Defraggler (An application developed by Piriform). It is a free tool which is very fast as compared to the Built-In Defragmenter in Microsoft Windows.(Yeah….I mean its really fast)……
